Within the supply chain and logistics industry, Multimodal is one of the UKs most anticipated events in the calendar. Following our first attendance last year as an exhibitor, where we were invited by our London Gateway owners DP World as a guest on their stand, we decided to exhibit independently for the first time in 2023.
The 3 day exhibition proved to be a resounding success for us, leaving us buzzing with excitement and inspiration. Our stand was a testament to our commitment to cutting edge innovations in supply chain and logistics management. By showcasing some of our latest technologies, we captivated the attention of visitors and industry professionals alike. Multimodal provided an ideal platform for us to expand our network and explore collaboration possibilities. By connecting with a diverse range of industry professionals, we were able to establish potential new partnerships, strengthen existing relationships and explore mutually beneficial ventures.
With the absence of a number of key competitors, it provided us with a great opportunity to strengthen awareness of the Ziegler brand. By leveraging various marketing channels, we succeeded in attracting a significant footfall to our stand and served as a springboard for us to enhance our market presence and establish ourselves as the go-to company for solutions in supply chain excellence. Furthermore, the use of the Smartscan app enabled us to effortlessly log the contact details that came from any encouraging conversations.
There was the opportunity to announce our up-coming move into a circa 500,000 square foot, state-of-the-art warehouse for our head quarters at the London Gateway in Essex. We were also able introduce our groundbreaking customs solution, Ziegler:SMART which provides hassle free importation in the EU by removing requirement for VAT and clearance on import. In addition, we were able to showcase our sustainability commitments including the use of electric autonomous vehicles and our Cargobikes. In fact, it was the perfect platform to demonstrate exactly why Ziegler continues to go from strength to strength and leads the way with innovation.
Overall, our attendance felt like an unmitigated triumph. Our commitment to excellence and dedication to pushing boundaries were evident through the constant stream of visitors to our stand. As we continue to innovate and evolve, we are poised for continued growth and to make a lasting impact on the supply chain and logistics landscape and set new benchmarks for success.
A big thank you to all who attended from Ziegler:

The Choose France summit, an event that showcases the investment opportunities and economic potential of France, recently brought together industry leaders, government officials, and prominent businesses from around the world. Ziegler Group was among the distinguished invitees. Our participation in the summit was a testament to our enduring partnership with France and positive outlook for the future.
Choosing France since 1946
We take pride in our long-standing relationship with France, a country that has played a significant role in the company’s success. Since 1946, when Ziegler launched our very first branches in France, we have recognized the potential and opportunities that France offers. Over the last 77 years, Ziegler France has established dozens of additional branches in various corners of the country, demonstrating our commitment to serving both French and international businesses while contributing to the local economy.
Participation at the Choose France Summit
The Choose France Summit was an excellent platform for us to showcase our commitment to the country, explore new business and development opportunities, and engage in relevant discussions. We were particularly interested in the panel discussions and lectures on various aspects of sustainable French business development, like “Powering the future: France’s Low-Carbon Strategy, from Energy Production to Industrial Competitiveness.” These discussions offered valuable insights into the innovative solutions and strategies required to drive sustainable growth in the French business landscape.
We would like to express our thanks to President Emmanuel Macron for extending this invitation to our company. We appreciate the excellent organization of the event, which provided a conducive environment for fruitful networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. We would also like to congratulate the organisers on the resounding success of the summit, as it truly highlighted the potential of France as an investment destination and a driver of sustainable development.
We remain optimistic about the prospects and opportunities that doing business in France offers, and look forward to continuing our successful partnership with the country for many years to come.
Following the recent acquisition of a new branch in Southampton earlier this week, Ziegler UK are delighted to announce another exciting expansion with the brand new opening of Ziegler Glasgow in Scotland.
This venture, across the border not only brings exciting new opportunities for local and nationwide businesses, it also signifies a milestone moment with a Ziegler presence in England, Wales and Scotland for the first time.
The new branch will be headed up by newly appointed Branch Manager Scott Stewart. Having been in the road freight industry for nearly 20 years, Scott started off in the warehouse as an 18 year old, working in many different departments whilst gaining knowledge and expertise over that period to the present day.
The new office is situated perfectly within a short drive of both major cities; Glasgow and Edinburgh and will be facilitating mainly road freight. The new location means Ziegler now have a groundbreaking Scottish presence, adding new lanes in the company’s ever growing successful expansion, always aiming to achieve our common goal of building a truly exceptional and world class organisation.
Ziegler UK are delighted to announce the latest exciting development as part of the Ziegler Group’s evolution with the acquisition of Comac Freight Services based in Southampton, a reputed company in our industry who specialise primarily in Ocean Freight achieving a turnover in 2021 of £8.5 million and £6 million in 2022.
We are delighted to welcome our new colleagues from Comac Freight Services into our group and we have high hopes for the future prospects of this business.
Comac will continue to trade under the name Comac Freight Services for the coming months with the intention to fully integrate this business into Ziegler UK Ltd in the near future where it will be known as Ziegler Southampton.
The previous owners of Comac Freight Services – Philip Copland & Julie MacGregor will remain with the business and Phil will assume the role of Branch Manager reporting Directly to Andy Burnham – Ocean Freight Director.
This acquisition is a significant milestone for our organization as it represents a strategic move to further expand our reach in the Ocean Freight market in a key UK port location of Southampton, and further strengthens our position as a leading player in the industry. The addition of Comac Freight Services to our portfolio brings immense opportunities for further growth for the UK business.
With this acquisition, we intend to work even harder towards achieving our common goal of building a truly exceptional and world-class organisation.
We welcome our new colleagues into our company and look forward to a bright future for our Ziegler Southampton branch.
As the season shifts from winter to spring, it serves as a visible reminder of the importance of embracing change and welcoming new possibilities. We extend our heartfelt thanks to you for your unwavering loyalty and support as we venture into the future together.

As the weather warms and nature flourishes, we are reminded of the potential that lies ahead. We wish you a prosperous and inspiring new season filled with exciting opportunities and personal growth. May this time bring you new energy, ignite your creativity, and inspire you both personally and professionally.
It was March 15, 1908, when Arthur Joseph Ziegler founded Ziegler Group and began a transport business using horses and carriages. The following years brought new challenges and opportunities. Ziegler successfully navigated that transition and continued to thrive in the new paradigms, adapting and growing over the decades to achieve today the stature of one of the European leaders in supply chain. That growth was only possible because we fully embraced several core values that have been perpetuated generation after generation in our company.
