Ziegler Group handles all of Chacalli Wines’ logistics and transport, delivering wines from producers around the world to its warehouse, handling customs formalities, checking, unpacking, warehousing, and repackaging. With Ziegler Group’s support, Chacalli Wines can offer many wines for next-day delivery.
“Without the service level that Ziegler provides, we couldn’t be as successful as we are today,” remarks Albert Nuemark, CEO of Chacalli Wines.
By partnering with Ziegler Group, Chacalli Wines relies on a specialist partner to handle the logistics and transport for them, allowing the company to focus on what it does best.
“We are knowledgeable about wines, but we’re not transport and logistics specialists, and it’s better to have a specialist partner do that job for you, than to do it yourself,” Albert says.
Both Ziegler Group and Chacalli Wines are family businesses that have been passed down from generation to generation and as such, they share common values, including a strong commitment to quality, tradition, and a passion for their respective industries.
Ziegler Group is committed to providing customized logistics solutions that are tailored to meet the specific requirements of each client. Whether it’s ensuring timely delivery of products, maintaining product quality, or meeting compliance requirements, the Ziegler Group is dedicated to delivering the best possible service to its clients.
By partnering with companies like Chacalli Wines, the Ziegler Group is looking forward to leveraging its expertise and resources to help companies grow and succeed in today’s fast-paced business environment.
We are thrilled to announce that Ziegler Morocco has been awarded the prestigious Authorized Economic Operator (Security and Safety) certificate! This achievement marks a major milestone for our company and solidifies our position as a trusted and reliable partner in the Moroccan marketplace.
It really was a long process first to achieve OEA class A (very good rating by the Moroccan customs). So we are thrilled to have now achieved OEA SS which is the highest certification and shows the highest level of trust from Moroccan customs.
As one of the very few Moroccan companies to receive this distinction, we are now in the elite class of trusted companies that are authorized to operate outside of normal customs hours, issue our own transit documents, and transfer full trucks with reduced customs checks. This level of trust and flexibility allows us to provide our clients with efficient and seamless logistics services, ensuring that their goods reach their final destinations on time and with the highest level of security.
This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, who have worked tirelessly to meet the strict standards set by Moroccan customs. We are proud to be recognized as a leader in our industry, and we are committed to maintaining the high level of service and security that our clients have come to expect from us.
We are excited to continue our growth and success in the Moroccan marketplace, and we look forward to continuing to serve our clients with the highest level of professionalism and excellence. Thank you for your continued support, and here’s to many more great things to come!
For the last two years, Ziegler Group has prioritised and invested in pursuing sustainability. We are pleased that we are making progress, even if it is just the beginnings of our ambitions.
So what’s next? What do we plan for 2023?
We now have a Group Sustainability Manager to facilitate and extend corporate sustainability efforts, and we designed a three-fold sustainability strategy for 2023:
Integrate our long-term sustainability goals and road map into Ziegler’s business strategy.
We are working towards integrating our sustainability goals and road map into Ziegler’s long-term business strategy.
To achieve this, we will proceed with a classic ‘stakeholder mapping’, ‘materiality analysis’ and then determine sustainability goals. The result will be an integrated Business Strategy that will help guide our sustainability efforts in the coming years.
We are currently working on these goals and expect them to be finalized by mid-2023.
Provide carbon emissions data throughout the Group.
Since our activities produce emissions, whether during transport or from on-site operations, it is important that we understand these emissions, and provide calculations and analysis to reduce them, not just for ourselves but also for our customers and partners.
Our Brussels Headquarters facilities have been certified as carbon neutral, and our TMS (Transport Management System) will be able to provide carbon emission calculations for each shipment starting on the first of January 2023.
For our other sites, we are looking for a data solution to record carbon emissions. Once selected, we plan to implement that capability during 2023.
Continue to pilot innovative projects
Our team gained valuable experience and knowledge in the last two years, by taking bold decisions to launch new sustainability projects whenthe outcome was not guaranteed. This is how we gain practical experience in the real world, learning what works and what does not work and how we can improve. We walk the talk.
Projects like electric Cargo Bikes, Autonomous Delivery Vehicles and improvements to facilities were started because we saw the opportunities and believed in them. They fit within Ziegler Group’s philosophy of piloting, doing, falling, getting up again, trying again and learning from the whole experience.
We will continue our dedication to more sustainability projects as we go into 2023. We also look forward to discovering new projects that will challenge us and push us further towards our goal of sustainable transport.
Conclusion
In 2023 we plan to have our sustainability goals integrated into Ziegler’s Business Strategy, which will provide structure and vision to our activities in the coming years. We also plan to track carbon emissions for individual shipments. And you can expect more new projects in the area of sustainable transportation.
Imagine the thrill of the open road, and the wind in your hair while cruising the roadways of southern France in a classic American muscle car – a true work of automotive art.
That dream is exactly what Ziegler’s Special Request department made possible for one of our customers who had a very special request that required white-glove treatment.
Our customer, a lover of American classic cars, contacted us with a dream: to bring an original AC Cobra from Los Angeles, California to his home in the south of France. And, as always, we were more than happy to oblige with such high-value cargo.
We reached out to our American partners, gathering all the necessary details about the car – from its bodywork to its value – and carefully crafted the perfect plan to transport it across the Atlantic. Our team worked tirelessly to arrange the appropriate air transport, ensuring that the car would arrive in pristine condition at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport.
But our work didn’t stop there. We also had all the necessary international vehicle transport paperwork and import documents ready and waiting, so as soon as the car touched down on French soil, we were able to quickly and efficiently clear it through customs. And just a few hours later, the keys were handed over to our ecstatic customer who finally had the car of his dreams.
So if you’re ever in the south of France, keep an eye out for this classic beauty as it cruises the private roads on the weekends.
At Ziegler, we specialize in making dreams come true. So, if you have a special transport need, don’t hesitate to contact us whether that might be transport of a small high-value package, or even an American muscle car. We’re here to manage your fragile and high-value transport requests.
Ziegler Group understands supply chain challenges more than most.
Filled with excitement, we are looking forward to receiving the first autonomous delivery vehicles that we ordered last year so that we can begin testing them in conjunction with various research institutes and government bodies in Europe.
However, we will need to be patient since our rollout of autonomous delivery vehicles for Europe is somewhat delayed due to supply chain issues for the vehicle manufacturer in the USA.
Udelv – the maker of the Transporter autonomous delivery vehicle Ziegler has ordered – is pioneering cutting-edge solutions for autonomous last-mile delivery, and they are working through the issues caused by economic issues that are causing these unavoidable delays.
There are still some steps to be done before testing can even begin. So Ziegler Group is hard at work setting up the conditions, research and partnerships that must be in place to bring this game-changing technology to Europe. We will use this time to prepare the ground even better.
We are looking forward to the arrival of Ziegler’s first Autonomous Delivery Vehicles. And as we embrace this unfolding revolution in last-mile delivery, we are not losing sight of our goals – bring our customers more convenience while simultaneously boosting sustainability and quality of life in cities around Europe.
Ziegler’s Approach to the Security of Information Systems
Long ago, when companies faced threats from pirates and bandits, they required armed security forces to ensure that the company’s assets were not lost in transit or stolen from their vaults.
Today, similar threats still exist. Highly valuable data is often only a few keystrokes away from being stolen. Instead of armed guards, our most valuable assets are protected by an army of IT experts who engage in a daily struggle with very real thieves.
How Zielger’s Information System Security is Organised
To make sure our cyber data is secure, Ziegler Group has adopted an Information System (IS) security approach that complies with the ISO27002 framework. These guidelines help us to create security standards and procedures that allow us to comply with regulations.
A Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for overseeing that security measures are being used correctly and that all departments and levels of the company follow the same rules for cyber data security.
New Comprehensive Security Policies
Our security processes are based on our Information Systems Security Policy (ISSP).
The purpose of this policy is to ensure the security of our information systems in a uniform and comprehensive way. It establishes ways to identify and address security risks, and aims to raise awareness about these risks among employees and partners.
The ISSP covers the secure storage and processing of data, including any Ziegler-owned data, software, and data that passes through third parties.
Since IT security is an ongoing process, these procedures and policies are being regularly adapted to minimise risks to our business and our customers.
Why a Risk-based Approach?
By looking at our risks, we can allocate investment and effort to secure the most vulnerable and valuable aspects of our company first.
Our risk assessments are performed by an external security auditor (Orange Cyber Defense), which are also complimented by internal assessments.
User Awareness Training
Having a well-informed and security-conscious workforce considerably lowers the risks of security breaches for the company as a whole.
So Ziegler offers interactive training and simulated phishing campaigns to employees to improve awareness and to help them identify real threats more easily.
Auditing our Information Security
Ziegler conducts yearly security audits of its information systems with an external partner, to identify vulnerabilities and create plans to address them, in order to improve the company’s security status.
These audits can include inviting a team of ethical hackers to look for weaknesses, and simulating specific attacks to test our own response procedures and execution.
Business Continuity
And what if the worst does happen?
Ziegler is investing in redundant systems to ensure business continuity and maintain the same level of security. This starts by creating redundant storage options and other measures to prevent single points of failure.
Our Disaster Recovery Site (DR Site) is located at a separate location for recovery in case of major outages at our main datacenters. The DR Site provides the same level of redundant power, climate control, and physical security as the main datacenter.
Time is of the essence in responding to a cyber-attack. This is why Ziegler has an Incident Response Playbook to structure an organised and swift response to incidents.
Looking to the future
Keeping up with the ever-evolving threat landscape requires that we use the latest tools and technologies.
Ziegler is investing in the use of cloud services to improve the scalability, availability, and security of its systems.
We are also leveraging machine learning, AI, and automation to quickly detect and respond to security anomalies, in order to prevent incidents from happening or spreading in ways that humans can’t easily detect.
Why we do it
We owe it to our customers and partners to guard their valuable information as carefully as possible. This isn’t just a good practice – it’s essential to maintaining lasting relationships and doing good business in our modern world.
Information Security allows us to go further, and dream big, just like companies have done since trade began millenia ago.

Chinese New Year is the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar and is the most important festival in China.
In 2023, the first day of the Chinese New Year (the year of the Rabbit) will fall on Sunday, January 22nd.
Chinese New Year celebrations traditionally last 16 days, starting from Chinese New Year’s Eve through to the Lantern Festival. The first 7 days, from January 21st to January 27th are a public holiday, which can result in a disruption of supply chain flows between China and Europe.
However, with Ziegler Group’s own branches in China and Hong Kong, we are able to secure the supply chain for our customers even during this holiday period.
Ziegler’s offices in China and Hong Kong will be on-call to take over each other’s duties to keep the movement of goods flowing as smoothly as possible for our customers.
